One of these things is not like the others

May's toy basket.

So this is May’s toy basket. See anything strange? Yes, that’s a cardboard box. The cardboard box that her baby-proofing coffee table padding thing came in. She discovered it yesterday, and next to sitting in the corner with her ball, it is her favorite thing to play with. She picks it up, twirls it in the air, hits herself in the face with it, crawls on top of it, puts it in her mouth, scoots around on it. It’s like a 10-in-1 toy. I wish I hadn’t already sent Santa her list. I could have just gone to Uhaul and bought her a moving kit.

What more could a kid ask for?!

Seems that I remember a beebee that liked oyster shells…

  2. Papou says:

When Daniel was 18 months his favorite spot was sitting inside of a cardboard box while watching Sesame Street. Must be something about cardboard in the genes.

  3. Mom says:

A good demonstration of the point I was making that babies don’t need a lot of toys with lights and sounds and motion and such. I think creative play is so much better!

  4. Agreed! Hopefully she’ll be one of those kids who wants to climb a tree and stay in it all day. An industrial child, if you will.
